Vote for women

In the 19th century, European women couldn't vote. A British woman, Emmeline Pankhurst, and her eldest daughter, Christabel wanted to change this. They believed that women should have the same rights as men. They founded a group in 1903 to campaign for women's votes. They were named the 'suffragettes'. That's what we asked our students to be: sufraggettes campaigning for the women's vote in the 19th century. And that's what they did...

MY HOLIDAYS IN THE USA

If I had money, I would definetely spend it in travelling around the world. One of the countries I would like to travel is the USA. I have planned my perfect journey: I would start in Washington DC and I'd visit the Capitol, the white house and all the parks. Later, I would leave Washington and visit Philadelphia and Baltimore. Then, I would travel to New York. There, I would visit all the icons of the city and I would go to the rooftop of the Empire State and the World Trade Center, so I'm keen on heights and I like watching below.
On the north-east coast, I would also stay in Boston and see a match of my favourite baseball team. Then, I would travel to the deep USA starting near the Great Lakes. I would visit the Niágara falls, the cities og Chicago, Minneapolis and Indianapolis. Then, it would be time for the Far West: starting with the desert I would revive the legendary cowboys' scenes and have a look in the ranchos. I would like to go to Phoenix and jump off the Grand Canyon.
What's missing? West Coast! Yes! Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego and the Death Valley are in my favourite US state, California. There, I would spend a lot of time and I would love to be a paparazzi for just a few weeks. If there is more time I would go to Seattle, obviously to Las Vegas, where I would gamble a lot, to Texas and I would finish my trip with a huge party.. Where? Obviously, in Miami.
