English Corner: 2011

My name is Bianca and I’m writing this letter from a Caribbean island, this island isn’t a normal island. My family; dad, mum and brother are here with me. We’re lost when we were traveling.

Life is very noisy and boring after twelve days on this island. We are very bored because we haven’t got any cards to play or radio to listen to music. I can’t see my friends Berta and Aina either.

Every day my brother makes a fire with the first day we make a hut to survive here. We are desperate to see a boat in the ocean.

We can’t survive here. It’s very hot and sunny. It’s horrible. The food is horrible, the best food in the tallest tree in the jungle.

The other day my brother saw a tiger near us.

In this island isn’t raining and we can’t drink anything.

We are desperate, my parents yet are looking for food in this terrible island.

Please help us!

My name is Alba Remacho and I’m twelve years old . I’m with my friend Gisela. We’ re in the Indic Ocean. We can’t escape from this island because there are sharks. Living here is very boring, we are twelve days on the island. We haven’t got magazines, a TV, a computer and we can’t see our family. Every day Gisela makes a fire on the beach and looks for boats. We can’t survive here. It’s very hot and sunny and there a lot of snakes and mosquitoes. We can’t sleep at night. I hate it here. There isn’t much food. We sometimes eat fish and other animals, but they’re horrible !!!

I feel terrible. I miss my other friends and I miss my school. I think about food especially chocolate, pizza and I think also my favourite drink Coca-Cola. Can’t survive here !!!

Hello, I’m Roger Gutiérrez Grau and I’m lost in a desert island in the Pacific Ocean. My boat was ship-wrecked and in this part of the Pacific there aren’t any boats. I am here for four months.

I’m alone, very alone, there isn’t anybody here. Only animals and they are very dangerous.

There’re some days I haven’t got water because it doesn’t rain and I can’t drink water from a river because there’re a lot of crocodiles.

When it doesn’t rain I drink water from coconuts.

I haven’t got food either, sometimes I find some bananas and I usually eat insects because it’s the only food her. The insects are disgusting.

I live in a cave. Her I sleep and I eat too. At night I’m sometimes cold because I haven’t got anything to warm me.

I see sometimes some planes, but they can’t see me.

I miss my family, my friends...

Whoever reads this letter, please help me!

My name is Sònia and I’m twelve years old. My brother and I are writing this from the little island of the Atlantic Ocean. My mum’s cooking dinner and my dad is looking for animals and fruit. My sister’s helping my dad, too. Here, we haven’t got coverage and we haven’t got a boat either, so we can’t communicate with anybody.

Life here is horrible. It’s very hot and we aren’t having a great time. The island has got a lot of insects and I hate it! We don’t sleep! Here we’re looking for food because there isn’t much so we can eat fish and fruit. Sometimes, dad hunts some animals, so we make fires, too.

I don’t feel very well and there isn’t a chemist either. I miss my friends and my city too. I need to leave here. Please help us because we can’t survive here. Read this, think and help us too!

Hi,

My name is Aina Solé and I’m writing this letter from an island near Las Bahamas. I’m alone in this island. I look for all the place and I can’t find any people or other animals. I only found strange insects and I’m disoriented and very afraid after some days lost in this island.

I haven’t got any food and I very hungry. I only eat coconuts. I haven’t got any potable water either.

I find a river, but the water isn’t potable and there are poisonous fish.

I don’t see any boats or planes from the first day.

I am oriented because I haven’t got any compass.

Days ago I built a small boat, but when I tried surf in the sea, the small boat broke in the water. I tried to swimming in the sea too, but there are some sharks and more aggressive animals.

Some days ago, I found trees and I built a little shelter for me. Here I can sleep, but isn’t very comfortable. I can’t survive here more days. It’s very hot and it’s never raining.

Life here is very boring. I haven’t got anything. The days are very long. I miss my family and my friends too.

I need help very faster. Please, look for me!

My name is Paula, I'm 12 years old. I'm in a desert island in the Atlantic Ocean, with my friends.

We can't comunicate and we can't eat some food either. But we sometimes go fishing in the river and and we can cook it on a fire too.

The life is very difficult here because it is very hot and there are a lot of insects, snakes, spiders etc...

At nigth we can't sleep and we can't do noise all of the day either because there are some dangerous animals.

I miss my family and my other friends, especially I miss chocolate, swets and other food.

We need your help a lot because we can't survive more and we haven't got water, it's terrible!

We make fire every day but anyone can see us and anyone can rescue us either.

I am Neus Gerez, I am twelve years old. I’m in small island with my two sisters. We don’t remember exactly why we are here, so we don’t know where we are now.

Here the weather is good, it is always sunny, but it’s woring because we haven’t got house and we climb the trees because we can’t survive with sun every day. We miss a lot our family and our friends, too.

Here, there isn’t much food but we sometimes eat insects and some fruit. We sometimes eat fish, too, but we don’t like it.

We never make a fire because it is very hot, so we write s.o.s in the beach and we look for boats every day.

At night, it is horrible, we can’t sleep because it is very hot and all the night we sing a song or we play some games, too.

My name is Anna, I am thirteen years old and I have a little brother called Pol. We are lost in a desert island of the Atlantic Ocean. I’m writing this letter because we can’t communicate of any other way.

We have bad conditions to live: there isn’t any good food so we eat some fruits and fish and we drink water from the coconuts. We swim in the sea and we sleep on the trees but the monkeys bother us. It’s also very hot and it doesn’t rain too.

There isn’t anything to do. The life isn’t easy either, so it’s a little boring for us. I don’t miss TV because, usually, I don’t watch at home, but I miss a lot my friends, the computer and the music. My brother misses the cartoons of TV, his toys and his friend too. We miss our family!

I think that we can’t stay here more time because we can die.

There isn’t much food in the island, so we eat fish or fruit and sometimes insects, but they are horrible, we can survive. The temperature here in the evening, but at night it is very cold but we can’t survive because there are a lot of snakes and mosquitoes too!

I miss my parents and my friends, and I miss the school too. And here I don’t listen to music and we can’t play on the computers either.

My name is Marc, I’m twelve years old and I’m staying in a desert island with my family. This island is small. We’re in the Atlanic Ocean. We haven’t gotanything top lay. My father is building a refuge but it’s horrible. We can’t live in it! My mother is finding some food. But there aren’t many animals, there are only some birds and insects. There isn’t much fruit, there are only some bananas and coconuts. My brother is making a fire. It’s very difficult because it’s windy and sometimes it’s raining, so we need the refuge. Sometimes, I’m fishing. It isn’t easy. There aren’t many fishes.

The night here is horrible! There are a lot of insects: mosquitoes, flies… I hate them, I can’t sleep.

I don’t like drinking water of the sea but I have to survive.

Sometimes I play around the trees to spend time. This island is very boring, so I play.

I want to go home because there are food and water. In this island it’s very difficult find some food and the water is not drinkable.

I miss my friends and I miss my town. I’m not sure if wecan survive here. Please, help us!
